Europeans wanted minerals eg soda ash, gold, diamond and agricultural produce eg tea, coffee, cotton sugar for their industries.
Europeans wanted market for their manufactured goods. Europeans sold their manufactured goods in East Africa.
Europeans wanted to spread christianity
